Let’s talk about Rom-Coms (for those of you who don’t know, that stands for romantic comedy). Rom-Com is probably the most versatile of the cinematic genres. Why? Because you can watch these movies when you are in any mood. Feelin’ happy? Watch a good rom-com and reminisce about the latest cutie in your life. Feelin’ blue? Rom-com’s are great at evoking the tears that you sometimes just need to cry. Got the mean reds? Well, you get the point :) Don’t take for granted the power of the rom-com.
Catherine’s Top 10 Rom-Coms (in no particular order…with additional commentary):
1. Mrs. Doubtfire
I still crack up when Robin Williams smashes his face in the pie “HELLOOO”
2. You’ve Got Mail
I’ve never understood why in all her movies, Meg Ryan always has to wear such unfortunate clothes…
3. Pretty Woman
Richard Gere takes Julia Roberts on a fab shopping spree. Need I say more?
4. The Ugly Truth
Gerard Butler. Need I say more?
5. The Break-Up
Vince Vaughn kinda gets on my nerves. But Jennifer Aniston is precious.
6. Bride Wars
Y’all, this movie is so cute! Great for a movie night with the girls.
7. Friends with Benefits
I LOLed the whole time during this movie…and Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake would have beautiful babies.
8. Life as We Know It
Such a sweet movie!
9. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
I frequently quote “come from da Greek word…”
10. Sweet Home Alabama
Reese Witherspoon is the epitome of a southern lady. She is adorable!
Aaaaanyhoo, that's my spiel for the week! Next week I'm gonna tell you gals (and guys...yeah I know you secretly read my blog) how to cheat on Thanksgiving without really cheating. I'll share some simple Thanksgiving swaps to help you cut down (a tad) on the calories.
xoxo, y’all
